I have read several books by Lexi Blake writing as Sophie Oak, but none as her writing as Lexi Blake until Memento Mori. Memento Mori is the first in a new series called Master and Mercenaries: The Forgotten. This is a spinoff series of her Master and Mercenaries. If you like reading romance with lots of action and suspense, then this is the book for you.
This book features Jax and River, but it’s also jam packed with past story-lines. One of the things that can be a bit confusing is that many couples are from past books that are being re-released. SInce they are being re-released over a period of time, some couples that are already together in Memento Mori, I haven’t gotten to read about from her Nights in Bliss (writing as Sophie Oak) series. It made it a bit confusing at times having so many past characters appear. If you have read lots of Lexi Blake’s stories, then you will love this! I knew some of the characters from the already published Nights in Bliss series, but not all of them.
Other than the complete gathering of all characters she has written, Memento Mori was full of action and suspense, with some sexy times thrown in there of course. The book and series revolves around a group of men referred to as the Lost Boys, that had been kidnapped by an evil doctor that erased their memories and tortured them. They were rescued, but are all trying to get back to their new normal. They are tough, funny, and so so troubled. It made for a very interesting storyline and I am sure the rest of the stories will be as well. I cannot wait to read them and I highly recommend Memento Mori.
